sunn o)))

sunn O))) is a drone metal group formed in Seattle in 1998 by guitarists Stephen O'Malley and Greg Anderson. The name nods to the Sunn amplifier brand, and the music is slow, extremely loud and built on heavily distorted, down-tuned guitar, feedback and sustained tone rather than conventional rhythm or melody. Key records include OO Void (2000), Black One (2005), Monoliths & Dimensions (2009), Kannon (2015), Life Metal and Pyroclasts (both 2019), along with collaborations with Boris (Altar), Ulver (Terrestrials) and Scott Walker (Soused). In Charleston they play the Music Farm with Shane Parish.
