Weigh Station

Weigh Station is a Charleston, South Carolina band that has been playing the Lowcountry since 2006. Its sound pulls from funk, soul, blues and Southern rock, and the band describes it as dirty southern soul. The act books as a full band or as an acoustic duo and mixes originals with covers. Weigh Station has headlined the Music Farm and the Charleston Pour House and works across the Carolinas at clubs, bars, weddings and private parties. Recent Lowcountry rooms include Tattooed Moose on Johns Island and in Park Circle, and Lowlife Bar on Folly Beach. Singer John Heinsohn and guitarist Tom Leonczyk met at a James Island party in 2004 and played their first gig together in 2006. The band released an EP, Past the Tracks.
